As a UX Designer within the checkout team, you will help to create meaningful and cohesive end-to-end experiences for consumers globally. You will work alongside your cross-functional team members to influence decisions and ultimately deliver the best possible checkout experience for our consumers around the world. At our customer, UX Designers influence teams to make customer centric decisions across the product development lifecycle. This includes drawing on data and research to inform design concepts and decision making. We start with asking the right questions and end with optimized, best-in-class deliverables. Our designers are great storytellers, active listeners, technology enthusiasts and experts of their craft.


As a UX Designer you will be the voice of the customer. With some guidance, you will lead project execution and represent specific areas of a product domain. You will establish a network across domains and your cross-functional team.


You will report to Director of UX for checkout and be a member of our diverse Global Design Organization where we believe that different perspectives and backgrounds inside our team lead to innovation and inclusion in our product design. Requirements

  • BA/BS + 5 yrs or Masters +4 yrs experience.

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields; for example, Design, Information Architecture, Human Factors/HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences OR alternative equivalent project/portfolio experience.

  • Experience across products and platforms, financial services expertise an advantage.

  • General awareness of technology mediums (e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS) including differences between them.

Job responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional team members in the conceptualization, execution and delivery of PayPal’s products and services, using a customer-focused, iterative design process.

  • Independently create high-quality designs that meet requirements and timelines

  • Leverage and extend the use of established UX techniques, templates, presentations,
    and assets in the creation of UX analysis, solutions, and materials.

  • Actively contribute to the wider UX community, possibly mentoring and
    developing others, leveraging your strengths to help others grow.
